Texas Hold em Poker
Texas hold em poker is one of the most popular online poker games. Players take turns being the dealer, and the house takes a small percentage of the pot called "the rake."
Texas Hold em Rules
Each player receives two cards that only they are allowed to see. These are called "pocket cards." After you see your pocket cards, a betting round occurs. The two players to the left of the dealer must post a "blind." (Commonly known as an "ante" in regular poker games.) All other players may fold after seeing their pocket cards if they wish. Afterwards, five cards are dealt on the table. These are often referred to as "community cards" and are visible to everyone playing at the table. Betting rounds take place in-between. Players must use their two pocket cards along with three of the five community cards in order to make the best five card hand.
Texas Hold em Strategy
The strategy for texas hold em is similar to that of other poker games. Players seek the highest
poker hands according to our
poker hand rankings chart. At the end of the game, the highest hand wins. One of the most obvious texas hold em tips is that you should be acutely aware of what hands may be available to other players, with whatever pocket cards they may hold.
No Limit Texas Hold em
As you might imagine, no limit texas hold em typically means what is says. However, a raise of the amount initially bet is often required. The maximum bet will be the chips you have on the table.
